Materials Used All materials used in structural works shall be of approved make and quality, conforming to relevant codes and standards. a) Concrete Grades: M20, M25, M30 (as per structural drawings) Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) or site-mixed, as per site conditions b) Reinforcement Steel Type: TMT Bars (Fe500/Fe550) Complying with IS: 1786 or equivalent standards c) Formwork/Shuttering High-quality plywood or steel shuttering Leak-proof and able to withstand concrete pressure d) Admixtures Approved plasticizers, retarders, and waterproofing compounds (if specified) 4. Construction Methodology a) Marking & Excavation Site to be cleared and layout marked as per structural plans. Excavation done as per depth and size specified, with proper shoring or dewatering as needed. b) Formwork Accurate and aligned to drawing dimensions Cleaned and treated with shuttering oil before concrete pour c) Reinforcement As per Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) Adequate cover blocks to be provided Checked and approved before pouring d) Concreting Proper batching, mixing, placing, and vibrating Continuous pouring to avoid cold joints Temperature and slump checked before pouring e) Curing Minimum of 7–14 days depending on mix and weather Wet curing or curing compounds as approved 5. Quality Assurance & Control Material testing (steel, cement, aggregates, water) Slump test, cube strength tests Pre- and post-concreting inspections Dimensional checks and tolerance verification 6. Health & Safety Measures Use of PPE: helmets, gloves, boots, harnesses Safe handling of steel and formwork Proper scaffolding and working platforms Emergency access and first aid availability 7. Applicable Codes and Standards IS 456: Code of Practice for Plain and Reinforced Concrete IS 1786: High Strength Deformed Steel Bars ACI, BS, ASTM codes (if international standards are required) Local Building Bye-laws and Regulations 8.
